B1 Battle Droids

B1 battle droids were battle droids that made up the backbone of the Trade Federation Droid Army and the Separatist Droid Army. Often called "Clankers" by Galactic Republic clone troopers, they were the successor of both the HKB-3 hunter-killer droid.[source?] and the OOM-series battle droid.

B1s were perhaps the most numerous—and expendable—soldiers in galactic history, and, unlike most organic soldiers, they were capable of action in hostile environments such as underwater or in space. They were designed, for the most part, to defeat their enemies through sheer numbers, not through their ability to think (they were very vulnerable to tricks) and utilize combat skills (unlike clone troopers).

The B1 battle droid was frequently used as a soldier for the Trade Federation. As a result, B1s were present in nearly every battle involving the Trade Federation.

Early battles involving the droids required a central computer for the droids to "think" from, but this was mostly removed post-Battle of Naboo after an attack destroyed the mainframe stationed there, resulting in all the droids on the planet being deactivated.

Midi-chlorians

Midi-chlorians were intelligent microscopic life forms that lived symbiotically inside the cells of all living things. When present in sufficient numbers, they could allow their host to detect the pervasive energy field known as the Force. Midi-chlorian counts were linked to potential in the Force, ranging from normal Human levels of 2,500 per cell to the much higher levels of Jedi. The highest known midi-chlorian count—over 20,000 per cell—belonged to the Jedi Anakin Skywalker, who was believed to have been conceived by the midi-chlorians.

Midi-chlorian counts were measured through a blood test; the Jedi used this method to locate Force-sensitive children before their Order was purged by the Galactic Empire. With the rise of the Empire, research into Jedi and the Force was banned, and though midi-chlorians continued to be tested for, sometimes by the Empire itself to root out hidden Jedi and other Force-sensitives, knowledge of them was diminished and inquiries into them were branded as illegal medical research. Midi-chlorians were only rediscovered after the New Jedi Order was founded.

When not forbidden, studies of midi-chlorians occurred among those who could master the Force and those who could not. While medical teams worked to understand the relationship between midi-chlorians and the Force, Jedi healers performed their own studies of the organisms. Even more esoteric studies were conducted by the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Plagueis, who discovered a way to manipulate the midi-chlorians to create new life.

Watto

Watto was a male Toydarian junk dealer/human trafficker, who owned a shop in Mos Espa, Tatooine. In his youth, he served as a soldier in the Ossiki Confederacy Army on his homeworld of Toydaria, but later left after sustaining permanently damaging injuries. Making his way to Tatooine, he fell in with the Jawa natives of the planet, and learned how to trade from them. Once he felt he had learned all he could, he abandoned the Jawas, and set up Watto's Shop in Mos Espa. He became one of Tatooine's many slave owners, and made a lucrative business for himself. Eventually, he came into possession of a young slave, Anakin Skywalker, who proved to be a gifted mechanic, and an invaluable asset to the running of the store. Soon enough, Watto discovered that the boy had an affinity for podracing.

Watto would often bet on the podraces, and was an avid fan, so he had Anakin race for him in several tournaments. Although the boy never won, he was clearly gifted. During one particular race, Anakin destroyed Watto's own podracer, which incurred the Toydarian's wrath. Shortly thereafter, a stranger to Mos Espa, Qui-Gon Jinn, claimed that he had his own podracer, and that he wanted Anakin to fly it in the Boonta Eve Classic. Watto conceded to the deal, but decided to bet against Anakin, instead investing in the Dug Sebulba. Jinn took the bet, wagering the pod against Anakin's freedom. Ultimately, Anakin won the race, and Watto was left with very little. His business declined, and he eventually had to sell Anakin's mother, Shmi Skywalker. Watto stayed in business until the Galactic Civil War, when he handed over ownership of his shop to his assistant, W. Wald. 

Pluma Sodi

Pluma Sodi was a member of the Kage Warriors and the sister of Krismo Sodi, the leader of the tribe. She was captured by Otua Blank, but was given back to her brother by Asajj Ventress.

A young Kage girl at the time of the Clone Wars, Pluma Sodi was desired by the loathsome lord of her home planet Quarzite, Otua Blank. Blank wanted Pluma as his young bride, and had his soldiers capture her and imprison her in a chest. To safely transport her to Blank's underground fortress via subtram, Blank hired a team of highly skilled bounty hunters, led by Boba Fett, to protect her. Little did they know that the Kage Warriors would ambush the tram to rescue Pluma.

After Krismo Sodi, Pluma's brother, found her, he was caught by Asajj Ventress, and both were handcuffed to the subtram's seats. Pluma pleaded with Ventress, her entreaty about the unfairness of being ripped from her home seemingly striking a chord with Ventress. The Dark Jedi instead bound and gagged Boba and stuffed him in the box, leaving him for Blank after receiving her credits. Later, halfway back to the station, Ventress took Pluma and Krismo to the very back of the subtram, where Krismo signalled a Milodon. When Ventress got her additional credits from the Kage, she released Pluma, who thanked her before the warriors departed.

Riyo Chuchi

Riyo Chuchi was a female Pantoran politician who hailed from the Pantoran homeworld of Pantora—a moon in orbit of the icy wasteland planet, Orto Plutonia—and represented her people in the Galactic Senate of the Republic during the pan-galactic Clone Wars. During her term as senator, the Pantoran Assembly requested that the Grand Army of the Republic establish a base on Orto Plutonia to protect the moon of Pantora from possible violent overtures from the belligerent Confederacy of Independent Systems. Although the Republic's armed forces complied, their station on Orto Plutonia soon ceased communications, forcing military leaders and Chairman Chi Cho of the Pantoran Assembly to organize an investigative task force to send to the frozen world. Cho asked that Chuchi accompany him with Jedi Generals Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi to Orto Plutonia to act as a liaison between the Pantoran government and the Jedi Order.

While Chuchi was on Orto Plutonia, her responsibilities as a senator were marginalized by Cho, who simply used her as a mouthpiece to convey his orders to the two Jedi. It was eventually discovered that Orto Plutonia was indeed inhabited and that its Talz population was the cause of the communications disruption. Chairman Cho held a great disdain for the Talz and attempted to wipe out the Plutonian tribe, but was instead killed in the process. Chuchi was able to negotiate peace between the Pantoran government and the Talz of Orto Plutonia before she eventually returned to the Republic's capital of Coruscant to resume her senatorial duties. Later in the war, Pantora was blockaded by the Trade Federation megaconglomerate under the pretense that the planet owed a number of debts to the corporation. During the crisis, the daughters of the newly-elected Pantoran Chairman, Baron Papanoida were kidnapped by bounty hunters working on behalf of Federation representatives who were interested in pushing Papanoida to ally his world with the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Chuchi took it upon herself to find the chairman's missing daughters with the aid of her close friend, Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano. The two visited the Trade Federation vessel in orbit of Pantora to search for the kidnapped Papanoidas but were only successful in finding Chi Eekway Papanoida. However, they did overhear a conversation that confirmed that Trade Federation supervisor Sib Canay had planned the blockade and kidnappings on behalf of the Confederacy, successfully using that information to bring an end to Pantora's commercial isolation. Chuchi continued to serve Pantora during the Clone Wars, surviving an assassination attempt by the sniper Shonn Volta and being one of the greatest proponents of a peaceful end to the war.

E-11 carbine/Blaster Rifle

The E-11 carbine was the carbine version of the popular E-11 blaster rifle. It was popular among Alliance soldiers, and also utilized by Imperial recruit trainees. It was more lightweight than E-11 blaster rifle with a higher rate of fire, but it also had less range and stopping power.

The Mark I version was in use since the early years of the Galactic Empire, though was later rendered obsolete by the new Mark II.

The BlasTech E-11 blaster rifle was a blaster rifle used during the time of the Galactic Republic, and manufactured by BlasTech Industries during the Galactic Civil War. It was the standard blaster rifle of the Imperial stormtroopers. A powerful, light and compact weapon, the E-11 was used widely through the galaxy.

Dexter "Dex" Jettster

Dexter "Dex" Jettster was a male Besalisk cook with a diverse past hailing from the Deep Core planet of Ojom. He owned and ran Dex's Donuts and later Dex's Diner. Shortly before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Jettster was running the diner in CoCo Town. Due to his wide experience, he was known as a reliable informant. Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Quinlan Vos often turned to him when they needed some information.
